The Clown Spirit

16.10.2020 - 20.12.2020

Curator Joanna de Vos

From a playful imagination, a family history related to the circus, and close connections with contemporary artists, the desire erupted to bring the clown and the artist together in ‘The Clown Spirit’.

AThOME, launched in early May 2020 on @tardino6 Instagram account, is a socially engaging online project that brings contemporary art into every person’s home. Each AThOME iteration is a compilation of protocols written by 6 contemporary local and international artists, inviting anyone at home to produce their own work of art - no budget or education needed. Anyone who follows the protocol, using simple household materials, will end up with a surprising little masterpiece.

Coup de Ville

Every few years, contemporary art platform WARP immerses the city of Sint-Niklaas (Belgium) in the hottest new contemporary art with the 'Coup de Ville' arts tour. Previous editions in 2010, 2013 and 2016 attracted over 10,000 visitors to our city.

Under the title 'Artivirals', an exhibition project is being organized to present visual art covering the corona virus pandemic and the subject of quarantining. The theme will be illustrated in visual interpretations from different angles.

This project is being realized with the cooperation and support of the Higher Institute of Fine Arts (HISK).
